At the heart of Re:tweak is our Creative Director, MATA. Hip hop beats provided MATA with an apprenticeship in the dark arts of production, but it is in deep house that he has found his niche. Not a man to be pigeonholed, you will find dubstep beat structures laced through his tracks, and if you listen really carefully- you can hear the  garage and hip hop that formed his early music education, woven into a sound that is all his own.

The man who brought Re:tweak together, has lived and worked at the heart of the Leeds music scene for over a decade, and his unbridled infectious enthusiasm is what brought Re:tweak into existence, and keeps this collective moving forward.

Whether he is on his weekly show on Traffic Magazine, causing people to stare with his live sets, planning the numerous upcoming tours and events, creating Re:tweaks graphic signature, or ensuring that the world gets the best that this collective can offer- MATA is a force to be reckoned with. For him, sitting still is an anathema, but for all his achievements for us at Re:tweak he is still happiest doing what he does best; throwing records on that will make a crowd bounce.
